A spectacular carved red lacquer 'twin dragon' flower stand from the Jiajing period (1522-1566), the golden age of Ming dynasty tihong lacquer carving. The piece is densely carved with imperial dragons pursuing the pearl of wisdom amidst scrolling clouds, executed with remarkable depth and dimension. The base bears the six-character Jiajing reign mark.
